Knockhill Race: P14

A very tough weekend at Knockhill. We went there all fired up with a plan and, I went out in the first practice and crashed on the 2nd lap. We did not expect that to happen. The team got the bike repaired for FP2 and throughout the session, I just couldn’t get comfortable with the bike. We made a few adjustments and nothing we done was helping me get comfortable and go faster.
Now we had to go straight into qualifying and use it as another practice to get a better set up. After the changes we made overnight, I went faster than my best lap time in FP2, in the first few laps of qualifying. I pulled into pitlane to keep my head straight and relax and then went for another go. I kept putting the laps in but I couldn’t go any faster. I ended up 18th on the grid, which wasn’t good as now I had even more work to do.
After some more thinking and analysing, we finally found the problem 👍I went out in morning warm up Sunday morning and it felt so much better and smoother 😁 I was only 0.1 of a second off my qualifying lap time but without pushing, so I knew I could go faster 💪
But as you would expect, the Scottish clouds opened up ☔ the team put a full wet set up on the bike for the race to give me a good feeling and it was me that let it down. Unfortunately I took too long to get up to pace, and lost touch with the group in front. I managed to keep the bike upright and finish the race in 14th. For sure it’s not the result any of us wanted, so I’m sorry to my team and sponsors as you all put so much hard work in!

The next round is at Snetterton 300 in a couple of weeks, so we will regroup and get ready for it 😄

I would like to give a special thank you to my Dad and also, Charles and Caroline from R&R Environmental Services and Treatment Plant Parts R Us for doing the long haul up to Scotland and doing the best job they can on the spanners 🔧 Additionally, a big thank you to our good friend, Nick Anson from Scotland for staying with us the whole weekend and being the Chef whilst my Mum has a round off 😂😃

Also, a massive thank you to Complete Carpet Cleaning Southeast, Maidstone Motoliner, Caterin Investments, JT Sprockets, all my other sponsors and everyone else for all the support, it means a lot
