Round 3 Donington
P18 in the race yesterday. Two mistakes that cost me a top 10 result 😓
I had a really bad start (which is very rare) from 14th on the grid and I dropped down to 18th by the end of the first lap, so I had a lot of work to do. I got back up to 13th position and there was a three second gap to the next group that was battling for 7th position. After a few good laps, I caught them up and thought I could go straight into it and pass them as I wanted to keep the momentum going. But on the 5th lap I went to overtake one of the riders and couldn’t stop the bike in time for the corner as the group broke really hard for it. I went down to 2nd gear and I went sideways under braking and almost taking out a couple riders, but I ran off track and re joined in 24th position 😒
So I was pretty mad with myself for not playing it smarter than I should have. I managed to get back up to 15th position by the last lap and I went into one of the fast corners and as I went into 3rd gear, I hit a false neutral ☹ I dropped a few positions and finished in 18th place.
I am very disappointed with myself, but I will learn from my mistakes!
Very sorry to my team, R&R Racing and all my sponsors for the poor result, but a massive thank you to everyone for sticking by me as I know I can bring home a great result 💪
A big thank you to Charles and Caroline from R&R Environmental Services and Treatment Plant Parts R Us for everything they are doing for me, we are slowly getting there!!
It’s my home round next at Brands Hatch GP in 3 weeks time and no doubt it will be a good weekend 👌🙏👍😆
